We had heard good things about the Toronto pastry shop Bobbette and Belle and had been meaning to check it out for a while, so when the craving for something sweet struck us one grey, rainy morning, it was the perfect prompt to finally following through. From the elegant storefront alone, we knew we were in for something special, and stepping inside from the rain, we were met with one of the prettiest shops we had seen in some time. The interior is light and bright, featuring a soft, feminine palette and French-inspired decor with just the right amount of rustic touches.
Our eyes were immediately drawn to the large, open counter holding a beautiful array of freshly baked goodies, from macarons and cupcakes to croissants and pastries, with some gluten free options. It was difficult to decide between all the delicious confections, but we opted for two cupcakes: a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and colourful sprinkles, which was moist and sweet and everything a classic vanilla cupcake should be, and a vanilla cupcake topped with a decadent salted caramel buttercream, which was possibly the best frosting I had ever tasted. For drinks, we ordered a creamy, frothy tea latte and a deep, rich hot chocolate topped with a marshmallow that had been toasted to golden perfection.
The atmosphere was relaxed and the food and drink delectable, making it a great spot to grab a coffee or stop by for a sweet indulgence any time of day.
