Over the last little while, I’ve started becoming more and more conscious about what I’m putting into and onto my body. And part of that has meant transitioning to less toxic health and beauty products. The transition process has been slow, because you have to find what works for you, and it involves a lot of trial and error. Ultimately, I don’t just want a more natural and less chemical laden product, I want one that works just as well as its more toxic counterparts.
I bought my first bottle of Treat Collection nail polish as an experiment. I was looking for nail polish without phthalates, which are known to disrupt hormones, and I came across the brand. Several bottles later, and it’s become my go-to, and I’m slowly replacing all my favourite shades. The lacquer contains no formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluoene, camphor, or DBP, making it markedly more environmental and health compatible than many popular nail polishes. They are also vegan and cruelty free, so they contain no animal products and are not tested on animals.
